The Aqua One 157w AquaVue 480 Wool Pad is actually composed of fine polymer fibres that will not rot in water and have a long, effective operating life. The pads operate mainly to trap solids and should be discarded when choked with waste and debris. Rinsing this fine polymer new works well and refitting an old, flat polymer wool pad only serves to decrease the filter flow rate, re-introduce old waste matter and reduce the operating life of the filter.
